EHRENBERG BRIDGE, BUILT 1930S. This 1933 photograph shows the multi-span steel truss bridge over the Colorado River between Ehrenberg and Blythe, California. Before Interstate 10 was built, this bridge carried traffic over the river. The town of Ehrenberg was named after Herman Ehrenberg (1816–1866), a surveyor, adventurer, and soldier who fought against Mexico in the Texas Revolution. (Arizona Department of Transportation.)

EHRENBERG BRIDGE OVER COLORADO RIVER, BUILT 1961. This multi-span steel girder bridge was built by the California Department of Transportation. Located between Blythe, California, and Ehrenberg, it carries Interstate 10 over the Colorado River at Ehrenberg. It replaced a multi-span steel truss bridge. This vintage photograph shows the width of the river during low flows. (California Department of Transportation.)
